Folks, we have a special virtual game on the markets for you! If the volatility scares you away, spend some time testing your skills on paper money, at a stock market game that StockFans.net is putting up for Capital Mind readers.
It’s five days of big prize pool game trading starting the next Monday (11th Jan to 15th Jan)
First of all, what is StockFans? It’s Trakinvest’s new fantasy trading game where players compete against each other in weekly games for real cash prizes.
How To Play?
To join and play in the Capital Mind game, follow these simple steps:
- Send an email to udai@trakinvest.com with the subject “CAPITALMIND“.
- Visit www.StockFans.net and create an account using the same email address you used to send the code.
- After you have created your account and logged in you will be credited 100 silver coins to join the game. Silver and gold coins are official StockFans currency. Gold coins are earned based on your performance. 10 gold coins = $1.
- Click on the ‘Game Lobby’ tab at the top right hand corner and join the Capital Mind private game. You can now go to your dashboard and start trading.
How Your Portfolio Works
On the left side of your dashboard, you’ll see your portfolio. As you start trading, you’ll notice your stocks start populating this panel and will be one of four colours –grey, green, red or blue.
- Grey = Order processing. The StockFans system executes your trades at real-time prices, but it can take a little time for the trade to show as processed.
- Green = Order processed, if it was a long open or close position (you now own shares of a stock or sold shares of a stock you owned).
- Red = Order processed, if it was short open or close position (read this if you don’t know what shorting a stock is).
- Blue = Order failed. You’ll see a yellow “!” icon.. This can happen if you put in an order, and while it’s pending you run out of cash. Trying to close a position before you’ve opened it also results in a fail.
You’re now free to start building and managing your portfolio. Your rank in the game is based on the % gain of your portfolio.
If you notice top performing players, feel free to follow or ‘Trak’ them and cut short your learning process by bringing in an element of social trading. The Capital Mind game has a prize pool of in rupees and the top 50% of players will win a part of that pool. Game goes live on the 11th.
Good luck this coming week. If you have any issues, email the StockFans folks back atsupport@stockfans.net.
Have Fun Trading!
