NHPC Limited (National Hydroelectric Power Corporation is an Indian Hydropower generation company established with an objective to plan, promote and organize an integrated and efficient development of hydroelectric power in all aspects. Currently the company has expanded its business to include other sources of energy like Geothermal, Tidal, Wind etc.
At present, NHPC is a Mini Ratna Category-I Enterprise of the Govt. of India.
Life Insurance Corporation of India which held 380,556,307 shares or 3.44% for the period ended 31-Mar-16, acquired 586,720,920 shares or 5.3% today.
With this its total stake now stands at 967,277,227 shares or 8.74%.
